CHICAGO – The Metropolitan Club, a member of the Invited family of clubs, announces a multimillion-dollar reimagination with innovative spaces and forward-thinking features designed to elevate club life. To further establish the club, which announced a long-term lease renewal in August, as the iconic centerpiece of Willis Tower and the place where business and social leaders gather to connect, host, work, play and celebrate, the club also is changing its name to The Metropolitan.

 “This reinvention is inspired by our vibrant membership, the reimagining of Willis Tower and the evolution of Chicago,” said Simona Blaugh, general manager. “The project will bring three new zones designed to capture the needs of the evolving business professional, downtown lifestyle and the dynamic needs of today’s sophisticated Chicagoan.”

 The reimagination project is slated to be complete in late 2018. New amenities and features will include:

Frame – Day + Night Bar

• Anytime, all occasion place to eat, drink and relax
• Meet for drinks and live entertainment, strike a pose in the photo booth or lounge in a cabana with tunes and a nightcap

Blueprint – Collaborative Work Space

• Plan the day over a cup of coffee, have a long productive afternoon and top it off with great friends and craft brews from the beer and whisky bar in Blueprint
• Collaborate on projects, hold meetings and show presentations on the large screen in our meeting room
• Make calls, have private conversations and find a quiet corner where you can focus on work in the casual offices

Craftsman – Elevated Dining

• Savor exceptional cuisine and upscale wines in Craftsman, an inviting atmosphere that pays homage to Frank Lloyd Wright and features an inventive wine display

The club also recently expanded its services within Willis Tower, providing superior food and beverage programming to the building’s exclusive, tenant-only amenities, including Tower House, an expansive tenant lounge and casual café on the 33rd floor; Tone, a 30,000-square-foot full-service fitness center on the 33rd floor; and Equity Office’s planned Altitude Lounge on floors 66 and 67, a refined lounge with the comfort and elegance of a boutique hotel, boasting truly stratospheric views.
