Deerwood Golf Club at The Clubs of Kingwood Unveils Multimillion-Dollar Reinvention

KINGWOOD – Deerwood Golf Club at The Clubs of Kingwood, a member of the Invited family and a centerpiece of the Kingwood community, kicks off the new year announcing the completion of an extensive multimillion-dollar reinvention project bringing stylish new dining and social features to the clubhouse and improvements to the golf experience.
The reinvented clubhouse marks another milestone achievement in the club’s recovery efforts after it suffered excessive flood damage during Hurricane Harvey in 2017 – impacting virtually all facilities. The new Kingwood Fitness & Sports and completely renovated Water Park opened in spring 2018, while construction on the new Kingwood Clubhouse is slated to be complete in February 2019.

“We are very excited about starting off 2019 with even more new amenities and improvements that elevate the member experience, provide more value to membership and allow us to create a more robust calendar of events,” said Blake Roberts, General Manager. “This is truly a new chapter for the Deerwood Golf Club and for The Clubs of Kingwood. Our members have been amazing with us throughout this journey to recovery and we are so proud to continue to serve as the community.”

New features to the Deerwood Clubhouse include a stylish, new upscale bar and anytime lounge with contemporary seating, a communal table where members can connect and big screen TVs throughout creating the ideal spot to watch the big game or catch up on the latest news, plus climate-controlled wine storage for member favorites. The innovative new menu features original fare, signature club favorites, local craft beers bottled and on tap, and hand-crafted cocktails. The reinvention project also includes new men’s and women’s locker rooms, new golf shop and new personalized arrival golf experience and golf carts.

“The members are very excited about all of the improvements,” said Tim Lavin, chairman of the club’s board of governors. “There has always been a sense of pride among the community in the club, the golf course and the wide range of benefits and amenities offered at The Clubs of Kingwood. The experiences of the past year and a half have only strengthened that pride and I expect it will grow even stronger as we all take advantage of the newest amenities.”

One of the world’s largest private country clubs, The Clubs of Kingwood offers 90 holes of championship golf at two distinct locations – Kingwood Country Club and Deerwood Golf Club. Amenities also include the Golf Advantage School (expanded putting green, state-of-the-art video training bays, lessons and club-fitting), 26 tennis courts, water park with adult pool, family pool with diving boards, two water slides, a splash pad and a 500-foot lazy river, upscale and casual dining and private event space.
Members of The Clubs of Kingwood also can enjoy Invited's unique O.N.E. (Optimal Network Experiences) program, which provides value-oriented benefits like 50% off a la carte dining at the member's Home Club. In addition, members enjoy benefits within the Community and Worldwide including complimentary green fees and complimentary dining when traveling throughout the Invited Network, which now offers access to more than 300 private clubs and special offerings at more than 1,000 hotels, resorts and entertainment venues.
