Invited's Las Colinas Country Club Serves as Site of Third Warrior Open Hosted by George W. Bush
IRVING - Las Colinas Country Club, a member of the Invited family, is proud to again serve as the site of The Bush Center Warrior Open, a three-day golf tournament hosted by President George W. Bush Sept. 26-28, 2013. Las Colinas Country Club has served as the site of the Warrior Open for all three years of the tournament. Invited also is again serving as a sponsor of the event, which features and honors post-9/11 members of the U.S. Armed Forces who were severely wounded in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Two-time champion retired Army Cpl. Chad Pfeifer is returning to defend his title in this officiated competitive 36-hole tournament against a field of 24 players, all of whom were seriously injured in the war on terror. To participate, players must have a validated Golf Handicap Index of 20 or below.
In addition to honoring those who serve and sacrifice for the United States, the Warrior Open also heralds the many organizations that give their time, talents and resources to support the men and women of our military and their families.
For the first time, this year’s event includes a Pro-Am on Thursday, Sept. 26, with a field of professional golfers scheduled to attend that includes Justin Leonard, Paul Stankowski, Geoff Ogilvy, Billy Mayfair, David Graham, and Lee Trevino.
“Invited is so honored to be a part of the Warrior Open,” said Eric Affeldt, Invited’s president and CEO. “We are excited to again provide the venue on which these men and women, who have so courageously and admirably served their country, come together to compete.”
