Association of the United States Army Honors Invited President and CEO Eric Affeldt with Support Future Military Award

DALLAS - The North Texas Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) has honored Invited President and CEO Eric Affeldt with a 2015 Support Future Military Award for continued support to men and women serving – and who have served – in the armed forces. Retired United States Navy four-star Admiral Patrick Walsh served as keynote speaker during the annual awards breakfast, held Saturday, March 21, at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch.

Invited serves annually as a sponsor of the George W. Bush Institute’s Warrior Open –– a 36-hole golf tournament now going into its sixth year that features and honors post-9/11 members of the U.S. Armed Forces who were severely wounded in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan. In addition, numerous Invited clubs throughout the country host a variety of charity events benefiting military causes.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the AUSA, an organization that gives so much support to past and present service people and their families,” said Eric Affeldt, Invited’s president and CEO.  “I am so proud of Invited’s involvement with the Warrior Open and how our clubs have taken on their own roles in giving back to the men and women who so courageously and admirably have served our country.”

The event benefited the AUSA educational programs, including the Army Scholarship Foundation, which provides grants to children of soldiers and spouses of active duty enlisted soldiers to assist them in achieving their educational dreams.

AUSA is a non-profit professional, educational association representing America’s Army on Capitol Hill and in local communities. AUSA North Texas focuses on programs raising funds and awareness in support of “Wounded Warriors,” providing educational support for Army families, and coaching, teaching and mentoring young veterans and emerging Army leaders.
