He graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1976 and began a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. He supplemented his science undergraduate degree with business studies at Crummer Graduate School of Business and London Business School during his 24 years with Burroughs Wellcome, Warner-Lambert and Pfizer. During that time he married Kathy and they lived throughout the eastern U.S. He retired as Vice President of e-commerce for Pfizer in 2000 to spend more time with his family. His wife, Kathy, is a Ft. Myers native. Together they have two adult children, Robert D. Fritz III and Kimberly Fritz Tanner, as well as six grandchildren. Kathy is an avid gardener and together they enjoy golf and time in the NC mountains. One of Rob's hobbies is restoring antique mechanical music boxes. Prior to moving to Bermuda Run in 2024, they spent 20 years at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club on Skidaway Island, GA. They are happy to have found their new home and community here in Bermuda Run West.
